10 things to do in Bali, Ulu Watu

Are you planning a trip to Bali, Ulu Watu?๐Ÿ“๐Ÿ‡ฎ๐Ÿ‡ฉ

Here are 10 things you have to do in Ulu Watu๐ŸŒผ

1. Visit Ulu Watu Temple + Kecak Dance๐Ÿ›•๐ŸŽญ

Look forward to a unique cultural experience with a Kecak fire and dance performance on the grounds of Ulu watu Temple. Kecak is a traditional Balinese dance and rhythmic song that depicts the battle from the Hindu epic Ramayana, in which Rama fights the demonic king Ravana with the help of the monkey god Hanuman.๐Ÿ•‰️

2. The Garuda-Wins-Kencana-Statue Ulu Watu๐Ÿ—ฟ๐ŸŒณ

One of the most recognizable symbols of Bali, located in Ulu Watu, is the Garuda-Wisnu Kencana Statue. They are also among the largest statues in the world, standing at more than 120 meters tall (including the top). Here, even the 93-meter-tall New York Freedom Statue is surpassed. Additional impressive monuments can be found on the 60 Hektar-large area surrounding the statue. There are frequently held cultural events, as well as dance and theater performances.๐Ÿ’ƒ

3. Spend a day on the Dreamland Beach, Thomas Beach, Jimbaran Beach๐Ÿ–️☀️

Bali is known for its gorgeous beaches. Enjoy the sun, collect shells by the water and have a leisurely drink of freshly prepared coconut at the beach bar. ๐Ÿš๐Ÿฅฅ

Depending on which beach you're on, you might spot a few monkeys.๐Ÿ’

4. Rent a surfboard or take surfing lessons๐Ÿ„๐Ÿผ‍♀️๐ŸŒŠ

For 450.000 IDR (ca. 27€) you can easily rent a surfboard on the beach. Beginners also have the opportunity to take surfing lessons and try their hand at the sport. ๐Ÿ„๐Ÿผ‍♂️

5. Watch a sunset ๐ŸŒ…

If you spend a day at the beach, take your time and wait for the sunset. You won't regret it! You don't see something this beautiful every day. This moment will be remembered forever and will make your stay in Bali unforgettable.๐Ÿงก

6. Visit the Sundace Ulu Watu Market ๐Ÿ›️๐Ÿ‘•

๐Ÿ“Located at Hatch

Here you will find traditional, homemade products from fragrances, jewelry, paintings to clothes and decorative items. You have the possibility to have your jewelry made individually. In the evening you have the possibility to play billiards and table football, as well as to have a drink or two. The hall offers a cozy atmosphere and is perfect for a relaxed game night with friends.๐Ÿ“ฟ✍๐Ÿผ

7. Go to an open air cinema ๐ŸŽฆ๐Ÿ’ซ

In Uluwatu there are some restaurants that put up screens in the evening and play movies for free. Food and drinks are usually provided. Depending on the weather, you can enjoy the sunset meanwhile and enjoy a nice evening under the open sky.

8. Make your own silver ring ๐Ÿ’✨

What is more beautiful than wearing your own jewelry. In Ulu Watu you have the opportunity to make a silver ring of your choice for 450.000 IDR (ca. 27€). Depending on the crowds, there is also time to make a second one for another 350.000 IDR (ca. 21€).

You will be accompanied from the first to the last step by nice people who will actively help you make your dream ring a reality. In my opinion, the perfect gift for a boyfriend, girlfriend or even for his own souvenir of his time in Bali. ๐Ÿ‘ฅ

9. Have a delicious meal at one of the small restaurants and cafes ๐Ÿณ

Bali offers many possibilities to have a delicious breakfast in a nice ambience. For about 60.000 IDR (ca. 4€) you can get freshly prepared bowls, omlets and much more. We always paid about IDR 400,000 (ca. 24€) for four people. Recommended is Ohana Bali, Ours, The Place with no Name, Jeffry Warung,... . ๐Ÿฅ‘๐Ÿฅญ๐Ÿฅ

10. Discover the environment with a motorcycle ๐Ÿ›ต

As a means of transportation is not only grab or gojek. If you want to have the full feeling, dare and rent a scooter. Already from 164.000 IDR/day (ca. 10€) this is possible. Driving in left-hand traffic, where there are hardly any traffic rules, is something you have to experience. It is a lot of fun. Try it out! ๐ŸŒŽ

So much for Ulu Watu. Of course, these are only inspirations for your next stay in Ulu Watu. What you do with your time is up to you.

    1. Yes, it depends on what you are up to, but for some beaches you have to pay an entrance fee for about 5000 IDR per Person. Also in general you often have to pay to visit places in Bali. Hope I could help you with that๐Ÿ˜Š
