The best activities outside of lectures
What do you do all day in Jakarta when you don't have to attend lectures? We asked ourselves this question almost every day. We needed help finding activities. Jakarta is a huge city, but it only offers a few bars or other opportunities to meet with friends in the evening. We also only got to know students from here over time.
Central Park Mall
Central
Park Mall Jakarta is an impressive shopping center in Tanjung Duren
that caters to the discerning visitor. This sprawling mall offers
shoppers a wide selection of retail outlets ranging from international
luxury brands to local boutiques. The mall has a modern and stylish
architecture that creates a welcoming atmosphere, and the well-designed
layout makes navigation easy and enjoyable. Central Park Mall also
offers a great selection of restaurants, from trendy cafes to luxurious
eateries providing local and international cuisine. The mall's appeal is
enhanced by its entertainment options, such as a cinema complex, an
aquarium comparable to a Seelife in Germany, and a large outdoor park
offering leisure and relaxation options. Central Park Mall Jakarta is a
must-visit for a vibrant and enjoyable shopping experience in the city's
heart. Its diverse shopping options, delicious culinary experiences,
and engaging entertainment options give it everything your heart
desires. We often come here to run errands or buy souvenirs for our
family and friends. In terms of price, however, it is the cheapest as a
shopping center in Germany. The mall is, therefore, more likely to be
frequented by wealthy people. Nevertheless, it offers many opportunities
to spend a nice day.
MOJA Museum
The MOJA Museum is home to various exhibitions designed by local and international artists. From interactive installations to impressive paintings, there is something for everyone to discover here. Be inspired by the creative works and immerse yourself in Jakarta's diverse art scene. We decided to go roller skating there. Imagine gliding through the museum's corridors on roller skates while enjoying the artistic scenery. This experience combines fun, exercise, and culture in a very special way. There are two floors on which different photo spots are set up. You skate around these spots and collect beautiful memories in your photo gallery.
Admission price and time frame:
The entrance fee for the MOJA Museum is 125,000 IDR (Indonesian Rupiah), which is about 8 euros. With this ticket, you can explore the museum for 2.5 hours and go roller skating. It's an excellent opportunity to combine art and activity and experience a day full of fun and culture.
Conclusion:
The MOJA Museum in Jakarta offers a unique experience that combines art, culture, and entertainment. From the fascinating exhibitions to the thrilling roller skating, there is something for every visitor to discover and enjoy. Spend a day at the MOJA Museum and immerse yourself in a world full of color, creativity, and movement. It's sure to be an unforgettable experience! If roller skating doesn't appeal to you, you can play mini golf or express your creativity on a canvas with brushes and paints in a room.
Museum - Bank Indonesia
The Bank Indonesia Museum offers a variety of exhibitions that vividly present the history of money and the Indonesian economy. From ancient coins to historical banknotes, there is an impressive collection here. Here, you can learn more about trade, banking, and the economic development of Indonesia. This is definitely an idea for a change from everyday life.
Entrance fee:
The entrance fee for the Museum Bank Indonesia is 5,000 IDR (Indonesian Rupiah), about 0.30 euros. This affordable price allows everyone to visit the museum and learn about Indonesia's rich history of money.
Conclusion:
Museum Bank Indonesia is a fascinating place that takes visitors on a journey through the history of money and the Indonesian economy. From the informative exhibitions to the interactive activities, the museum offers a unique experience for all visitors. Indonesia and Jakarta are great places to learn more about the currency and how it was worth less than the euro.
Glodok Chinatown - West Jakarta
The old Chinatown is close. It takes us 20 minutes by car. The place is spacious and offers a good selection of almost everything. Clothes, shoes, toys, food, all together and mixed. It is a beautiful and well-decorated old neighborhood with a Chinese flair. Many small restaurants and stalls are scattered around, offering local and Chinese dishes. Everyone will find something to their taste here. It was pretty empty when we arrived, and we got a place to sit immediately. During peak hours, for example, towards the evening, it could get quite crowded here, and you may have to wait for a table.
Motorcycles ride among people, so be careful. People tend to smoke everywhere, including inside and during meals. This could have been more annoying during meals. However, as the hostel also reeks of smoke, it was nothing new for us. The price is generally reasonable. Overall, it's worth a visit. But we wouldn't go there a second time.
